PIPC is a course designed to be of interest to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, residents and other health care professionals involved in primary, specialty and acute care for children with acute or chronic conditions. After this activity, participants will be able to utilize new assessment modalities and interventions for the care of infants, children and adolescents related to mental health (elimination disorders, autism spectrum disorders and safety plans for suicidal ideation), schools and pediatrics (education consultants-planning for students with chronic conditions and regional alliance for healthy schools), children’s advocacy (MIAAP and Mi-CHEC), adolescent medicine (eating disorders, addiction medicine and adolescent gynecology)

Objectives:

At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Diagnose and manage mental health conditions of children related to elimination disorders, safety plans for suicidal ideation, and autism spectrum disorders.
  • Improve the heath care professionals’ knowledge of adolescent medicine related to eating disorders, addition medicine and adolescent gynecology.
